Ok, so I just finished day 5 on the Camino and have hiked 102km, 399km more to go. I haven´t had an internet connection possible anywhere until now.
Today was the longest day at 29.5km and I´m really feeling it. Thankfully, the weather hasn´t been too hot.
The first two days in Burgos were brutally cold and wet. I arrived and it was hailing...yes hailing!
My body muscles are beginning to have memory and the pain is becoming more manageable but man, nothing can prepare you for this.
The terrain is quite beautiful but very rough in areas and hard on the feet especially the pavement on the long stretches. There was a very long stretch today of long unending roadway and an American Perigrino beside us said it was the ¨walk of death¨. It seriously felt as if it would never end.
My quads and hamstring muscles are really feeling it today. There should be massage parlours every 10km or so. :)
Tomorrow we have a shorter day thank God.
What an incredible experience this has been so far. The things I have seen and experienced will stay with me forever.
Nothing compares to this adventure.
There seems to be no way to download my amazing pictures so it will have to wait until I´m back home unfortunately.
Ok, I´m off to bed after a wonderful Perigrino meal. Hasta luego!

Getting ready to leave
Tomorrow I leave for the Camino de Santiago where I will be trekking across Northern Spain for approx. 650km. I'm so excited about this spiritual journey for what it will change in me, but nervous about the physical issues I will be dealing with in regards to my feet and back.
I will be flying in to Madrid and taking a bus to Burgos where my good friend Sharon and I will spend two nights and a day touring Burgos. On the morning of the 20th, the long journey begins, hiking 20-30km every day and staying in hostels each night until we reach Santiago. Ready or not, here I come!
